SAPPHIRE EURO CHALLENGE FINISHED !
In the final of the Sapphire EURO Challenge for CSS we saw eXelon.academy and Phrozen, both from Finland going head to head in a 3 mapper.
Phrozen took the first map, de_train, by 16-11 but eXelon didn't give up and pulled back on de_nuke winning the map 16_10. eXelon carried the momentum in map third and final map de_inferno. After a close game going back and forward eXelon took the map 16-13 and thus claiming the Sapphire EURO Challenge victory!
We'd like to thank the participants for attending and ofcourse a big thanks to Sapphire to sponsor another CSS cup!

Yesterday we saw the ending of the Sapphire Challenge for Counter-Strike:Source.
Surprise of the challenge was without a doubt
Endless, they knocked out
spray ( yes, THE ex-reason gaming guys ) and managed to go over
Phrozen in an epic overtiming of 25-22. They then had to face
Aces who should not be confused with the
Aces.
Aces won the game and was the first finalist.
On the other side of the bracket we had
GUMMI whom are 3times champion in the ESL Pro Series - Alpen.
They faced
Thermaltake whom are last seasons EPS Germany champs !
GUMMI took the game and became the 2nd finalist.
The final was best out of 3 and started of on de_train where
Aces just steamrolled through making it a swift 16-3. But
GUMMI didn't want to go down without a fight and they took the 2nd map de_inferno 16-11. A decider map was needed and that turned out to be de_nuke where once again
GUMMI managed to take the upper hand and with the map with 16-10.
We would like to thank everyone who participated and ofcourse, let us not forget the sponsor
Sapphire
And stay tuned for more cup announcements soon!

Due a large number of new people on the website I've decided to brefiely explain how to get registered correctly to the cup.
English :
The first step is to make a clan , invite all 5 players These 5 players all need their steamid and xac userid filled in on their profile ( xac userid you can get from your profile on www.xraygaming.com )
Then the clanleader makes a squad within the team ( for example team A.css ) and then adds all the players And then you can apply to the tournament.
French :
Tuesday 13th April 6:45pm
Changes to the hmv gamerbase Cup
Heaven Media and hmv gamerbase have been listening to the community regarding the issues relating to this event, namely, that the online qualifiers have attracted numerous European based teams that would not be able to attend the subsequent Finals in Reading.
As such, we have today decided to amend the competition to protect teams that are able to attend the offline events in the UK.
hmv gamerbase and Heaven Media have also increased the prize fund of this event to £4,000!
Qualifiers
With immediate effect, we will be cancelling the online qualifiers to the competition and instead make qualification exclusively through offline tournaments held at gamerbase centres in Reading, Manchester, London and Glasgow on
the 9th of May The top TWO teams from each centre will be invited to the Grand Final at gamerbase Reading on
Sunday the 30th of May.
The entrance to the qualifiers have also been reduced to just £10 per player.
Grand Final
The final 8 teams will attend the Reading gamerbase venue and compete for £4,000 of prize funds, there is NO entrance fee to the finals.
We will also transfer the travel award to local winners, plus an extra £1000 prize fund, to increase the total prize fund for the tournament to £4,000 – doubling the original prize pot. This will be distributed as follows, and as you can see, just by attending each team will receive at least £250, thereby ensuring all teams had their travel covered, rather than just 4 that won the qualifiers.
1st - £1500 + Logitech Keyboard, Mouse and headset to each player
2nd - £700 + Logitech Keyboard, Mouse and headset to each player
3rd £500 + Logitech Keyboard, Mouse and headset to each player
4th £300
5th £250
6th £250
7th £250
8th £250
Thanks to everyone for all your support with Esports Heaven and you will see us at all the qualifiers and the Grand Final, where we will provide extensive coverage, team interviews and news as we lead up to find the first ever winners of the hmv gamerbase Cup.
