Group Stages (0 comments)

I've tried the last few weeks getting in touch with a number of teams in order for them to try and complete their group stage matches as soon as possible so that the elimination stage can begin. Many teams did get on with it and for that, thank you!

To those remaining teams with group stage matches, you have untilmidnight on the 26th January to complete your remaining matches.

If matches are not complete, the team with the greatest ticket ratio will progress to the next round.

Thanks, and good luck.

First up, all groups have been seeded and entered - you can find them HERE

Just to clarify: 1st December is not a match day that's set in stone - teams have the entire week to schedule the matches with their opponent.

When teams finish their matches, if you can find your match in 'Upcoming Matches', you may enter the score manually and we will check it after that point. If not (which will be for the majority of people), please send a PM to us with the following information, preferably in this format and order!

* Date (dd/mm)
* Match time in CET (hh/mm)
* Scores (e.g. 346 - 127)
* Lineup
* Server details (one or the other)
* A match report, if you have one.

Lastly, we have decided that to make things a little more interesting and different, we'll be using a slightly different version of Mashtuur and, possibly in the future, other maps as well.

On promod, most of you have seen the additional spawn points on maps (such as 1 extra spawn point on South Block), giving teams something new to exploit tactically. We'll be getting a writeup to you soon of how to add the different version of the map to your servers. If you don't have ftp access, don't worry, there'll be other servers you can use.

For further discussion on the additional spawnpoints, check the forum thread out HERE!

After a successful debut cup for Battlefield 2 at Esports Heaven, what better way to celebrate the festive season than a merry match-making marathon...

In other words, we'll be bringing you a 16 team infantry cup the week starting 7th December, when teams will compete in 4 groups and 4 teams progress into a single elimination play-off.

Teams will have a week to settle the matches between those people in their respective groups. The maps for the group stages will be:

* Week 1
- Road to Jalalabad
- Strike at Karkand

* Week 2
- Gulf of Oman
- Sharqi Peninsula

* Week 3
- Mashtuur City
- Strike at Karkand

We expect the group stages to be finished the week before Christmas, giving people a chance to indulge in Christmassy things like mince pies and reindeer (or women and booze, depending on which part of the world you're from), and resume the cup shortly after New Year.

I want to thank all the teams who have so far competed at Esports Heaven and for your continued support to help the community here grow into something special.

It is, however, important that we get as many teams registered as possible to allow larger cups. The sooner this happens the more suitable the next few tournaments will be for sponsors to be involved. We have been promised hardware and cash prizes but the proviso is that we build the community to be large enough to accommodate sponsored tournaments. So get cracking, and get your friends signed up.

On a different note, I want to welcome Speedyheadshot to the Esports Heaven admin team. I think his experience with the game and the competitive scene will go a long way here to making BF2 @ Esports Heaven more successful.
